In line with my core belief, that faith must be unique to each individual, this book is my own personal view of the cosmos; of what infinite forces shape our destiny over eternity. It was first formally developed in 1977, but it has since been developed as it has guided me throughout my life.

It contains two main elements; a testament and an interpretation. The testament is absolute.

Each reader has, though, the right to his own interpretation, and this will, undoubtedly, be a function of the culture to which he or she belongs and of their own development in that culture. It is, indeed, arguable that the main message of this work is that the reader has a duty to develop their own interpretation; as a basis for their future lifestyle. Awareness is all. Elsewhere I have simplified this to just one word: THINK.

In exactly the same way, I am conditioned by the many forces that impinge upon the time and place I inhabit. My interpretation is, therefore, only wholly valid as these words are written. By the time you, the reader, hold my judgments in the balance they may be largely irrelevant. This is my human failing; the testament is not.

To illustrate, and develop, my personal interpretation I have included a third section. This contains essays on some of the themes which run through the society of my time. The intention of these is to show how ENTITY can be applied to all aspects of life. They may possibly have some direct relevance for the society of my time. However, even more than the basic interpretation, they are specific to the community within which I live. Their relevance to later times is not in their propositions, for these may soon be obsolescent, but in the principles that can be discerned at work behind them. It is in this spirit I ask you to judge them. This is also why I have elsewhere included so much material on my life and times, and ideas. Using this, to screen out my personal prevarications, you may be better able to see the underlying truths.

As to the exact nature of this document, I believe the best introduction is to describe its genesis, since this parallels the processes detailed in the testament; and illustrates how the powers governing the universe are also available to humans.

It is the summation of a number of years of study, and yet it has finally emerged as being almost totally independent of the lines of development suggested by that period of study. My original intent, in 1977, was no more than to produce a review of some of the many alternative strategies available to deal with the economic and political crises constantly facing the society in which I live.

As the work progressed, however, the increasing simplicity of the underlying themes was contradicted by the growing complexity of the recorded facts. In my society this conflict has traditionally been resolved by deterioration into specialization. Perhaps because I am something of a dilettante, interested in many subjects but not unduly committed to any one sphere of knowledge, I determined not to submerge myself in the minutiae of specialization; no matter how comforting this might be. Indeed, the wide spectrum of activities in which I have engaged, again evidenced by my auto-biography, demonstrates my own practical commitment to being a generalist who values the widest possible oversight of life. Thus I chose, instead, to evaluate the overall relationships which seemed, to me, to be infinitely more important.

After this, first, change of direction my work entered more into the area of basic philosophy, and was directed towards establishing a series of simple rules that were `self-evident'; that could reasonably be developed on the basis of common-sense. Both politics and economics, and the whole philosophical basis for modern life, had long been bedevilled by jargon laden dogma – and what is now called ‘spin’ - substituting for real creative thought. Yet underneath the obfuscation it was still possible to see patterns emerging.

The key thus became the development of new ways of thought which would produce, in due course, the necessary changes in lifestyles. A subtle transformation from factual exposition of economics to intuitive exploration of the spiritual had begun.

Little by little my mind was opened to new vistas. The intuitive ideas emerged first as a trickle, and then finally built to a flood. Driven by these new concepts, dazzled by the intellectual and spiritual pyrotechnic display so revealed, the whole direction of my investigation had become almost the reverse of my original intentions. In itself this was already indicative of the great power of the processes involved.

In some respects I was no longer in control of my researches. I had become the scribe for powers beyond my understanding. Yet, at the same time, my own clarity of thought, my intellectual power, was never greater.

This resulting book has, therefore, been the child born of a long gestation; of a slow diffusion throughout the whole of my intellect. There was no single sudden flash of insight, no miraculous conversion. Yet eventually the philosophy was just as definite, just as convincing.

It is not to claim that enlightenment was a mundane everyday process and did not have its highlights. In fact the journey was occasionally so intense as to produce what can only be described as religious experiences. It is simply to record that the gradual process, whilst far less dramatic, was infinitely more effective. The drama of the mystical vision was highly convincing, but the more subtle long term process conveyed far more useful information.

Most convincing of all were a series of events which proved, by personal experience, the existence of the phenomenon which I have described as ENTITY.

Over a number of years I had occasionally been able to predict the short term future in a directly quantifiable manner; and the longer term in a more qualitative sense. This talent I saw as of little use and certainly of no great significance. The crucial, event which totally changed my viewpoint and ultimately led to this book, began most prosaically when driving along the autoroute back from Paris. I overcame the boredom by playing a game with my children. For sheer fun we tried to see if telepathy was possible. As with so many other events, that have changed lives, this was an unpredictable choice, an unexpected step into the unknown. For it turned out that, despite our deep scepticism, we could actually transmit quite detailed pictures to each other.

There was no serious intent; no preconceived ideas. Despite this the result was a conclusive demonstration of telepathy; a demonstration which we repeated over the next few days and weeks. Even then it was not a sudden revelation, but a gradual process.

Then, as a final acid test of the new ideas which were emerging, whilst on a flight to America I set out to draw a picture of the view from the room where I would be staying; in a hotel I had never before visited, This time this was a deliberate decision, scientifically executed; using the techniques recommended by the Stanford Research Institute.

The picture that I drew contained a remarkably unlikely collection of disparate elements. Roads criss-crossing water, three tall towers, a circular building with a segment cut out, a wedge shaped building, and all wreathed in steam. Yet when

I opened the bedroom curtains, the following morning, that was exactly what I saw. The towers turned out to be radio aerials, the circular building was a baseball stadium, the wedge was part of a race course stand, and it was all seen through the white wisps of a snowstorm.

This, then, was the conclusion of my search at that time; which was to become the keystone for the whole edifice.

The value of these events was not to single me out, as a shaman with unique powers, but only to indicate that there existed phenomena which were demonstrably beyond the 'natural laws' already known. These were the insights that form the backbone of my work.

The immediate message that they brought to me was that these complex phenomena, which were as yet little observed or even recognized, were directly available to all those seeking them.

Exploration of these powers ultimately has led directly to the creation of the work you are now reading. As such it is truly an inspired work.

The core of the book, the testament, was not written by the normal creative techniques but by opening my mind to the messages contained in ENTITY. Its content was as novel to me as it will be to any new reader. The testament is, in this way, a pure document. It is, allowing for the imperfect communication channel that I form, a true representation of ENTITY as it appears in my time-space period.

Its strangeness, and ambiguity, it partly reflects the context and partly the fact that – on the other hand - the concepts it carries are independent of time and place.

The comments I have appended to it are, however, clearly for my time; and may possibly be archaic and meaningless even when the testament is still relatively fresh. These comments are, of course, strongly influenced by ENTITY. They are, though, dependent upon my intellect; which is very much a product of my time.

It is all too easy for the possessor of any paranormal powers, the shaman, to use these to dazzle the ill-educated, the desperate and those who are always searching for an easy proof of life after death. He becomes a showman not an educator, or he grows into a religious fanatic. Ultimately he allows himself to become the target of worship, a human god, and a travesty of everything that ENTITY represents.

This is not my message. I am an ordinary mortal. My one claim to fame is only that I have a heightened awareness of my purely human powers. The message is that these powers belong to all, not to a privileged few. ENTITY is the true leveler; it cannot be bought. It is freely available to all who desire it.

Hence, I immerse myself in anonymity, I offer no hostage to fortune, no idol that religious perverts may be able to use to their own peculiar advantage. I am no paragon to set myself as an example for others to follow. I am proud to be a human, full of frailties yet with the potential for greatness we all share. Cold inhuman perfection is not the gift of ENTITY. The creed of ENTITY is spelt out by the testament, it requires no further expansion. What each individual makes of it is between himself and ENTITY.

In essence it is a story of great hope. The only supreme sacrifice is quite simply to fulfill your talents.

ENTITY is the pure experience of the individual, an untainted religion. It is not the embodiment of man's images, relying on the crude worship of idols who are asked to intercede where man alone fails. Rather it is the ultimate pinnacle of man's life, of his creativity, of his achievements. To strip away the layers of imposed artefact, to open your mind to the awareness that is ENTITY, is to truly live and thence to gain immortality.

The final proof of ENTITY can only be within the reader. If you can develop the clarity of mind necessary, you too will obtain your full reward. You may never be able to astound the multitudes with the party tricks of the shaman, nor should you waste your talents on such trivia; but you will be able to shape the course of your life.

This is not, however, a dry search for an intellectual salvation. It contains the seeds of pure joy, that are slowly released to grow and illuminate your whole life.

I have already confessed that I was endowed with more than my share of frailties before commencing the voyage that became this book; and those frailties are all too evident in the accompanying auto-biography. Despite all that I have experienced on this journey I am still human, with my many imperfections. However, the strength that I have found in ENTITY has allowed me to face, and at least in part conquer, those worst flaws in my being.

I will never achieve perfection, for such is the prerogative only of a god. Nor would I wish to. The gift I give to ENTITY is my uniqueness, with all my flaws as well as my virtues.

I have, though, with the insight provided by ENTITY and the inner strength that follows, been able to start putting into perspective all that is my life. This act of contrition, which became inevitable when I opened my soul to ENTITY, has shown me the imbalances that were present, and given me the opportunity to create a less imperfect being.

In particular, the strength of ENTITY has allowed me to confront even those evils that reside deep within my soul, and start to drive them out. I had not expected, nor asked for, such a remission. Yet the sweetness, and purity, that replaces the evil transfuse me with an inner calm, and a power that grows daily.

There will be relapses, and I can never expect to complete the process, for I am, in all ways, mortal. Yet the record of my struggle is as important as any success I may eventually achieve. ENTITY does not demand the impossible. It only asks that I fulfil all that I am capable of.

I will freely admit that before I began my journey I saw little benefit in such a struggle. It appeared a joyless, puritanical denial of self. My experiences have proved me wrong. The struggle is not, in reality, painful or demanding. It is, instead, joyful. Each step brings a welcome breath of fresh air into my being.

This increased awareness has occasionally even resulted in a state of bliss that is beyond description. The presence of ENTITY becomes almost a physical manifestation. It is as if I were bathing in the rays of a pure sun that permeates and warms every fiber of my body. I know no more exhilarating intoxication, nor ask for greater privilege. Such pure joy is a gift beyond price, to be cherished for ever.

I offer my personal experiences not as a template for your own spiritual growth, but simply as evidence of some of the boundless power, and joy, that is freely available to all. You, along with all beings, must develop in your own unique way. Follow in the steps of no man, but blaze your own trail to the destiny that you alone can aspire to.

The story of this part of the collection is one of hope and joy. ENTITY is a resource, a strength to see you through tribulation to triumph, which is yours merely for the asking. The ultimate reward for that one initial step is true immortality.

Into your hands, guided by ENTITY, I therefore consign the gift of total experience; together with the inner strength and joy that accompanies it.
