With the children long-since off our hands, this house was designed for just the two of us. Unfortunately, just as we were about to move into it – after 8 years with almost no contact - Miles moved back in! This meant that everything had to be changed. He had the second bedroom, which had been assigned as my office, and I had to shoehorn this into bedroom three – which was half the size.
It was a nice house, beautifully sunlit; especially the enormous living room on the first floor – which had floor to ceiling patio doors on either side of an elegant fireplace, overlooking the marina. It was ideal for parties, of which we had quite a few, with the patio and balconies (at all levels) onto the marina. However, for everyday living these outdoor living spaces were very overlooked and we rarely used them.
It was sandwiched between the marina and the Grand Union Canal, and the linear park was accessible just over the canal; so it was very convenient for walks.
